Welcome
The Monarch is cosy and perfect for a romantic retreat, yet spacious for a reunion with friends or family. When you book The Monarch you enjoy the whole house in total privacy. We offer contactless check-in, however, we are available if you want a more personal experience and we can show you around the house and give you any local area information.
Surrounded by comfort
Inspired by the Victorian era with a touch of modernity. The exterior retains the heritage charm, while the inside has undergone a spectacular transformation.
The house sleeps six adults comfortably in three spacious bedrooms. We also have a cosy sitting room adjacent to the main bedroom that contains a sofa bed, should you need to accommodate an extra adult or children. Enjoy L’Occitane bath products in both the main bathroom and ensuite. Entertain in the outdoor BBQ area and cook up a storm on the large Weber BBQ, or take advantage of the fully equipped kitchen. When you book The Monarch, you have the whole house to enjoy with your loved ones in total privacy. Feedback from our guests is that two nights is not enough – so consider at least a three night stay to really enjoy the house, Tumut and the Snowy Valleys area. There is so much to do!
Victorian charm with a modern twist
If you are not yet impressed, wait until you walk in and see the stunning glass atrium that runs the length of the living area, which has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. It lets in an abundance of natural light and enables guests to enjoy the clouds rolling over, watch the rain, enjoy the sun and do some bird watching. If you are lucky enough to witness a summer storm then you are in for a real treat. We are blessed in Tumut to have some lovely bright skies so make sure you turn the lights off and stargaze.
Close to everything
The Monarch itself is amazing, but the icing on the cake is the location. The house is a stone’s throw from the river and in rural town language, ‘at the end of the main street’. You can have a morning walk along the river, or head up town for your coffee or breakfast if you don’t feel like making the most of the gourmet kitchen. You can even walk to the supermarkets for all your supplies. This photo is a bird’s eye view above The Monarch looking down towards the river.
Room for everyone
The Monarch sleeps six using existing bedding. We have a cosy sitting room adjacent to the main bedroom that has a sofa bed for an extra adult or two children (for a small extra charge). Children are welcome at The Monarch and we have toys, books, games, a cot and a high-chair for them. If you are bringing little people please let us know so that we can make them welcome and have everything ready for them. The dining room table can seat eight, but there is plenty of seating if you are hosting a small dinner party. The house is large and open so there really is plenty of room for everyone.
